Hey, I'm supposed to be an independent, self-publishing fiction writer through my Samizdat Publications and yet selling my first published books had became difficult despite the good story quality and affordability of these. I think that I'll be returning soon to that search for a publishing company like I did in the past and so I must lay down my "pride" for my other unpublished manuscripts. I hope that I'll find a just and humane publisher who is open-minded to give chance to aspiring fiction writers like me, support Philippine literature and renewed interest in reading books, and without the attitude of treating the publishing industry as just some business gamble.

SOLILOQUY According to Webster’s Dictionary, soliloquy (so-lil-o-kwi) n. /plural soliloquies/ is the act of speaking one’s thoughts aloud in solitude; a speech in a play through which a character reveals his/ her thoughts to the audience, but not to any of the other characters, by voicing them aloud , usually in solitude. (derived from Latin soliloquium “to speak alone”). Grolier International Dictionary defines soliloquy as a literary or dramatic form of discourse in which a character talks to himself/ herself or reveals his/her thoughts in the form of a monologue without addressing a listener; the act of speaking to oneself in or as in solitude.

The moon in full phase on the night of February 14

Lovers’ moon caught between the thorny flowering branches of bougainvilleas

Guests: Bridget and Leona from my first published book "Dalawang Babaeng Umiibig" (please refer to the September 2013 post "Samizdat Publications")
Those uploaded satirical artworks (except for the photos of the beautiful full moon and the People Power book and Asin CD below)  are from the imagination of this weird blogger yet they somehow became symbolic; just don’t ask anymore as long as "Confident" by Justin Bieber feat. Chance the Rapper is still a current big hit despite the weedy odor. Usually, the blog posts every February here in weirdjtt.blogspot.com had lots of Valentine flavors of mush, cheesiness, satire, bitterness, and some spoof. However, this slogan goes on- NBSB: Nice Being Single-Blessed.

Our family’s treasured book “People Power: An Eyewitness History” which had the cost of only 190 pesos then at the National Bookstore branch at Baclaran (now moved somewhere). Google can never replace the grandeur of its pages of black-and-white pictures and testimonies of the people interviewed by the author; very nice learning material during Makabayan-HeKaSi classes. At its left is an original audio CD of the greatest hits of one of the greatest and legendary OPM band “Asin” whose haunting yet beautiful songs “Balita” and “Ang Bayan Kong Sinilangan (Cotabato)” became of great help to our lessons about the situation in war-ravaged areas of the country during the Marcos regime and the present times can still relate to these.
